Fix cgroup v1 interference when non-root cgroup v2 BPF programs are used.
Back in the days, commit bd1060a1d671 ("sock, cgroup: add sock->sk_cgroup")
embedded per-socket cgroup information into sock->sk_cgrp_data and in order
to save 8 bytes in struct sock made both mutually exclusive, that is, when
cgroup v1 socket tagging (e.g. net_cls/net_prio) is used, then cgroup v2
falls back to the root cgroup in sock_cgroup_ptr() (&cgrp_dfl_root.cgrp).
The assumption made was "there is no reason to mix the two and this is in line
with how legacy and v2 compatibility is handled" as stated in bd1060a1d671.
However, with Kubernetes more widely supporting cgroups v2 as well nowadays,
this assumption no longer holds, and the possibility of the v1/v2 mixed mode
with the v2 root fallback being hit becomes a real security issue.
Many of the cgroup v2 BPF programs are also used for policy enforcement, just
to pick _one_ example, that is, to programmatically deny socket related system
calls like connect(2) or bind(2). A v2 root fallback would implicitly cause
a policy bypass for the affected Pods.
In production environments, we have recently seen this case due to various
circumstances: i) a different 3rd party agent and/or ii) a container runtime
such as [0] in the user's environment configuring legacy cgroup v1 net_cls
tags, which triggered implicitly mentioned root fallback. Another case is
Kubernetes projects like kind [1] which create Kubernetes nodes in a container
and also add cgroup namespaces to the mix, meaning programs which are attached
to the cgroup v2 root of the cgroup namespace get attached to a non-root
cgroup v2 path from init namespace point of view. And the latter's root is
out of reach for agents on a kind Kubernetes node to configure. Meaning, any
entity on the node setting cgroup v1 net_cls tag will trigger the bypass
despite cgroup v2 BPF programs attached to the namespace root.
Generally, this mutual exclusiveness does not hold anymore in today's user
environments and makes cgroup v2 usage from BPF side fragile and unreliable.
This fix adds proper struct cgroup pointer for the cgroup v2 case to struct
sock_cgroup_data in order to address these issues; this implicitly also fixes
the tradeoffs being made back then with regards to races and refcount leaks
as stated in bd1060a1d671, and removes the fallback, so that cgroup v2 BPF
programs always operate as expected.

This is the same sort of panic as observed in commit 4224cfd7fb65

There are many other callers of __ethtool_get_link_ksettings() which
don't have a device presence check.
Move this check into ethtool to protect all callers.

If the driver uses a page pool, it creates a page pool with
page_pool_create().
The reference count of page pool is 1 as default.
A page pool will be destroyed only when a reference count reaches 0.
page_pool_destroy() is used to destroy page pool, it decreases a
reference count.
When a page pool is destroyed, ->disconnect() is called, which is
mem_allocator_disconnect().
This function internally acquires mutex_lock().
If the driver uses XDP, it registers a memory model with
xdp_rxq_info_reg_mem_model().
The xdp_rxq_info_reg_mem_model() internally increases a page pool
reference count if a memory model is a page pool.
Now the reference count is 2.
To destroy a page pool, the driver should call both page_pool_destroy()
and xdp_unreg_mem_model().
The xdp_unreg_mem_model() internally calls page_pool_destroy().
Only page_pool_destroy() decreases a reference count.
If a driver calls page_pool_destroy() then xdp_unreg_mem_model(), we
will face an invalid wait context warning.
Because xdp_unreg_mem_model() calls page_pool_destroy() with
rcu_read_lock().
The page_pool_destroy() internally acquires mutex_lock().

To fix this problem, it uses rhashtable_lookup_fast() instead of
rhashtable_lookup() with rcu_read_lock().
Using xa without rcu_read_lock() here is safe.
xa is freed by __xdp_mem_allocator_rcu_free() and this is called by
call_rcu() of mem_xa_remove().
The mem_xa_remove() is called by page_pool_destroy() if a reference
count reaches 0.
The xa is already protected by the reference count mechanism well in the
control plane.
So removing rcu_read_lock() for page_pool_destroy() is safe.

The reason we observed is that:
When the listener is closing, a connection may have completed the three-way
handshake but not accepted, and the client has sent some packets. The child
sks in accept queue release by inet_child_forget()->inet_csk_destroy_sock(),
but psocks of child sks have not released.
To fix, add sock_map_destroy to release psocks.

Since the commit mentioned below __xdp_reg_mem_model() can return a NULL
pointer. This pointer is dereferenced in trace_mem_connect() which leads
to segfault.
The trace points (mem_connect + mem_disconnect) were put in place to
pair connect/disconnect using the IDs. The ID is only assigned if
__xdp_reg_mem_model() does not return NULL. That connect trace point is
of no use if there is no ID.
Skip that connect trace point if xdp_alloc is NULL.

Commit 086d49058cd8 ("ipv6: annotate some data-races around sk->sk_prot")
fixed some data-races around sk->sk_prot but it was not enough.
Some functions in inet6_(stream|dgram)_ops still access sk->sk_prot
without lock_sock() or rtnl_lock(), so they need READ_ONCE() to avoid
load tearing.

syzkaller reports a warning in __xdp_reg_mem_model().
The warning occurs only if __mem_id_init_hash_table() returns an error. It
returns the error in two cases:
1. memory allocation fails;
2. rhashtable_init() fails when some fields of rhashtable_params
struct are not initialized properly.
The second case cannot happen since there is a static const rhashtable_params
struct with valid fields. So, warning is only triggered when there is a
problem with memory allocation.
Thus, there is no sense in using WARN() to handle this error and it can be
safely removed.

The functions that register an XDP memory model take a struct xdp_rxq as
parameter, but the RXQ is not actually used for anything other than pulling
out the struct xdp_mem_info that it embeds. So refactor the register
functions and export variants that just take a pointer to the xdp_mem_info.
This is in preparation for enabling XDP_REDIRECT in bpf_prog_run(), using a
page_pool instance that is not connected to any network device.

xdp_rxq_info_unreg() implicitly calls xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model().
This may well be confusing to the driver authors, and lead to double free
if they call xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model() before xdp_rxq_info_unreg()
(when mem model type == MEM_TYPE_PAGE_POOL).
In fact error path of mvpp2_rxq_init() seems to currently do exactly that.
The double free will result in refcount underflow in page_pool_destroy().
Make the interface a little more programmer friendly by clearing type and
id so that xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model() can be called multiple times.

This happens because netpoll_owner_active() needs to check if the
current CPU is the owner of the lock, touching napi->poll_owner
non atomically. The ->poll_owner field contains the current CPU holding
the lock.

trace_drop_common() is called with preemption disabled, and it acquires

trace_drop_common() also disables interrupts, but this is a minor issue
because we could easily replace it with a local_lock.
Replace the spin_lock with raw_spin_lock to avoid sleeping in atomic
context.

This came while reviewing commit c4e86b4363ac ("net: add two more
call_rcu_hurry()").
Paolo asked if adding one synchronize_rcu() would help.
While synchronize_rcu() does not help, making sure to call
rcu_barrier() before msleep(wait) is definitely helping
to make sure lazy call_rcu() are completed.
Instead of waiting ~100 seconds in my tests, the ref_tracker
splats occurs one time only, and netdev_wait_allrefs_any()
latency is reduced to the strict minimum.
Ideally we should audit our call_rcu() users to make sure
no refcount (or cascading call_rcu()) is held too long,
because rcu_barrier() is quite expensive.

net_alloc_generic is called by net_alloc, which is called without any
locking. It reads max_gen_ptrs, which is changed under pernet_ops_rwsem. It
is read twice, first to allocate an array, then to set s.len, which is
later used to limit the bounds of the array access.
It is possible that the array is allocated and another thread is
registering a new pernet ops, increments max_gen_ptrs, which is then used
to set s.len with a larger than allocated length for the variable array.
Fix it by reading max_gen_ptrs only once in net_alloc_generic. If
max_gen_ptrs is later incremented, it will be caught in net_assign_generic.

The recent addition of in_serving_softirq() to kconv.h results in
compile failure on PREEMPT_RT because it requires
task_struct::softirq_disable_cnt. This is not available if kconv.h is
included from sched.h.
It is not needed to include kconv.h from sched.h. All but the net/ user
already include the kconv header file.
Move the include of the kconv.h header from sched.h it its users.
Additionally include sched.h from kconv.h to ensure that everything
task_struct related is available.

Each attribute inside a nested IFLA_VF_VLAN_LIST is assumed to be a
struct ifla_vf_vlan_info so the size of such attribute needs to be at least
of sizeof(struct ifla_vf_vlan_info) which is 14 bytes.
The current size validation in do_setvfinfo is against NLA_HDRLEN (4 bytes)
which is less than sizeof(struct ifla_vf_vlan_info) so this validation
is not enough and a too small attribute might be cast to a
struct ifla_vf_vlan_info, this might result in an out of bands
read access when accessing the saved (casted) entry in ivvl.

changed by other threads. Mark this as benign using READ_ONCE().
This patch is aimed at reducing the number of benign races reported by
KCSAN in order to focus future debugging effort on harmful races.

SKB_GSO_FRAGLIST skbs must not be linearized, otherwise they become
invalid. Return NULL if such an skb is passed to skb_copy or
skb_copy_expand, in order to prevent a crash on a potential later
call to skb_gso_segment.

syzkaller started using corpuses where a BPF tracing program deletes
elements from a sockmap/sockhash map. Because BPF tracing programs can be
invoked from any interrupt context, locks taken during a map_delete_elem
operation must be hardirq-safe. Otherwise a deadlock due to lock inversion
is possible, as reported by lockdep:

Locks in sockmap are hardirq-unsafe by design. We expects elements to be
deleted from sockmap/sockhash only in task (normal) context with interrupts
enabled, or in softirq context.
Detect when map_delete_elem operation is invoked from a context which is
_not_ hardirq-unsafe, that is interrupts are disabled, and bail out with an
error.
Note that map updates are not affected by this issue. BPF verifier does not
allow updating sockmap/sockhash from a BPF tracing program today.

Since we no longer allow sending io_uring fds over SCM_RIGHTS, move to
using io_is_uring_fops() to detect whether this is a io_uring fd or not.
With that done, kill off io_uring_get_socket() as nobody calls it
anymore.
This is in preparation to yanking out the rest of the core related to
unix gc with io_uring.

Commit 4ff09db1b79b ("bpf: net: Change sk_getsockopt() to take the
sockptr_t argument") made it possible to call sk_getsockopt()
with both user and kernel address space buffers through the use of
the sockptr_t type. Unfortunately at the time of conversion the
security_socket_getpeersec_stream() LSM hook was written to only
accept userspace buffers, and in a desire to avoid having to change
the LSM hook the commit author simply passed the sockptr_t's
userspace buffer pointer. Since the only sk_getsockopt() callers
at the time of conversion which used kernel sockptr_t buffers did
not allow SO_PEERSEC, and hence the
security_socket_getpeersec_stream() hook, this was acceptable but
also very fragile as future changes presented the possibility of
silently passing kernel space pointers to the LSM hook.
There are several ways to protect against this, including careful
code review of future commits, but since relying on code review to
catch bugs is a recipe for disaster and the upstream eBPF maintainer
is "strongly against defensive programming", this patch updates the
LSM hook, and all of the implementations to support sockptr_t and
safely handle both user and kernel space buffers.

This patch changes sk_getsockopt() to take the sockptr_t argument
such that it can be used by bpf_getsockopt(SOL_SOCKET) in a
latter patch.
security_socket_getpeersec_stream() is not changed. It stays
with the __user ptr (optval.user and optlen.user) to avoid changes
to other security hooks. bpf_getsockopt(SOL_SOCKET) also does not
support SO_PEERSEC.

A latter patch refactors bpf_getsockopt(SOL_SOCKET) with the
sock_getsockopt() to avoid code duplication and code
drift between the two duplicates.
The current sock_getsockopt() takes sock ptr as the argument.
The very first thing of this function is to get back the sk ptr
by 'sk = sock->sk'.
bpf_getsockopt() could be called when the sk does not have
the sock ptr created. Meaning sk->sk_socket is NULL. For example,
when a passive tcp connection has just been established but has yet
been accept()-ed. Thus, it cannot use the sock_getsockopt(sk->sk_socket)
or else it will pass a NULL ptr.
This patch moves all sock_getsockopt implementation to the newly
added sk_getsockopt(). The new sk_getsockopt() takes a sk ptr
and immediately gets the sock ptr by 'sock = sk->sk_socket'
The existing sock_getsockopt(sock) is changed to call
sk_getsockopt(sock->sk). All existing callers have both sock->sk
and sk->sk_socket pointer.
The latter patch will make bpf_getsockopt(SOL_SOCKET) call
sk_getsockopt(sk) directly. The bpf_getsockopt(SOL_SOCKET) does
not use the optnames that require sk->sk_socket, so it will
be safe.

In the commit d73ef2d69c0d ("rtnetlink: let rtnl_bridge_setlink checks
IFLA_BRIDGE_MODE length"), an adjustment was made to the old loop logic
in the function `rtnl_bridge_setlink` to enable the loop to also check
the length of the IFLA_BRIDGE_MODE attribute. However, this adjustment
removed the `break` statement and led to an error logic of the flags
writing back at the end of this function.

Before the mentioned commit, the `attr` is granted to be IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS.
However, this is not necessarily true fow now as the updated loop will let
the attr point to the last NLA, even an invalid NLA which could cause
overflow writes.
This patch introduces a new variable `br_flag` to save the NLA pointer
that points to IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS and uses it to resolve the mentioned
error logic.

One of the worst offenders of "fake flexible arrays" is struct sockaddr,
as it is the classic example of why GCC and Clang have been traditionally
forced to treat all trailing arrays as fake flexible arrays: in the
distant misty past, sa_data became too small, and code started just
treating it as a flexible array, even though it was fixed-size. The
special case by the compiler is specifically that sizeof(sa->sa_data)
and FORTIFY_SOURCE (which uses __builtin_object_size(sa->sa_data, 1))
do not agree (14 and -1 respectively), which makes FORTIFY_SOURCE treat
it as a flexible array.
However, the coming -fstrict-flex-arrays compiler flag will remove
these special cases so that FORTIFY_SOURCE can gain coverage over all
the trailing arrays in the kernel that are _not_ supposed to be treated
as a flexible array. To deal with this change, convert sa_data to a true
flexible array. To keep the structure size the same, move sa_data into
a union with a newly introduced sa_data_min with the original size. The
result is that FORTIFY_SOURCE can continue to have no idea how large
sa_data may actually be, but anything using sizeof(sa->sa_data) must
switch to sizeof(sa->sa_data_min).

We are seeing cases where neigh_cleanup_and_release() is called by
neigh_forced_gc() many times in a row with preemption turned off.
When running on a low powered CPU at a low CPU frequency, this has
been measured to keep preemption off for ~10 ms. That's not great on a
system with HZ=1000 which expects tasks to be able to schedule in
with ~1ms latency.

Some drivers might misbehave if TSO packets get too big.
GVE for instance uses a 16bit field in its TX descriptor,
and will do bad things if a packet is bigger than 2^16 bytes.
Linux TCP stack honors dev->gso_max_size, but there are
other ways for too big packets to reach an ndo_start_xmit()
handler : virtio_net, af_packet, GRO...
Add a generic check in gso_features_check() and fallback
to GSO when needed.
gso_max_size was added in the blamed commit.

In bug report [0] a warning in r8169 driver was reported that was
caused by an invalid GSO SKB (gso_type was 0). See [1] for a discussion
about this issue. Still the origin of the invalid GSO SKB isn't clear.
It shouldn't be a network drivers task to check for invalid GSO SKB's.
Also, even if issue [0] can be fixed, we can't be sure that a
similar issue doesn't pop up again at another place.
Therefore let gso_features_check() check for such invalid GSO SKB's.

The "NET_DM" generic netlink family notifies drop locations over the
"events" multicast group. This is problematic since by default generic
netlink allows non-root users to listen to these notifications.
Fix by adding a new field to the generic netlink multicast group
structure that when set prevents non-root users or root without the
'CAP_SYS_ADMIN' capability (in the user namespace owning the network
namespace) from joining the group. Set this field for the "events"
group. Use 'CAP_SYS_ADMIN' rather than 'CAP_NET_ADMIN' because of the
nature of the information that is shared over this group.
Note that the capability check in this case will always be performed
against the initial user namespace since the family is not netns aware
and only operates in the initial network namespace.
A new field is added to the structure rather than using the "flags"
field because the existing field uses uAPI flags and it is inappropriate
to add a new uAPI flag for an internal kernel check. In net-next we can
rework the "flags" field to use internal flags and fold the new field
into it. But for now, in order to reduce the amount of changes, add a
new field.
Since the information can only be consumed by root, mark the control
plane operations that start and stop the tracing as root-only using the
'GENL_ADMIN_PERM' flag.

File reference cycles have caused lots of problems for io_uring
in the past, and it still doesn't work exactly right and races with
unix_stream_read_generic(). The safest fix would be to completely
disallow sending io_uring files via sockets via SCM_RIGHT, so there
are no possible cycles invloving registered files and thus rendering
SCM accounting on the io_uring side unnecessary.

1) tbl->gc_thresh1, tbl->gc_thresh2, tbl->gc_thresh3 and tbl->gc_interval
can be written from sysfs.
2) tbl->last_flush is read locklessly from neigh_alloc()
3) tbl->proxy_queue.qlen is read locklessly from neightbl_fill_info()
4) neightbl_fill_info() reads cpu stats that can be changed concurrently.

Device flags are displayed incorrectly:
1) The comparison (i == F_FLOW_SEQ) is always false, because F_FLOW_SEQ
is equal to (1 << FLOW_SEQ_SHIFT) == 2048, and the maximum value
of the 'i' variable is (NR_PKT_FLAG - 1) == 17. It should be compared
with FLOW_SEQ_SHIFT.
2) Similarly to the F_IPSEC flag.
3) Also add spaces to the print end of the string literal "spi:%u"
to prevent the output from merging with the flag that follows.
Found by InfoTeCS on behalf of Linux Verification Center
(linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
