5a4bf76289 soc: ti: wkup_m3_ipc: Send NULL dummy message instead of pointer message

mbox_send_message() sends a u32 bit message, not a pointer to a message.
We only convert to a pointer type as a generic type. If we want to send
a dummy message of 0, then simply send 0 (NULL).

Because the size passed to copy_from_user() cannot be known beforehand,
it needs to be checked during runtime with check_object_size. That makes

For CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK=y kernel, explicit allocation of cpumask
variable on stack is not recommended since it can cause potential stack
overflow.

Instead, kernel code should always use *cpumask_var API(s) to allocate
cpumask var in config-neutral way, leaving allocation strategy to
CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK.

Use *cpumask_var API(s) to address it.

f2f02f7962 drm/panel: ilitek-ili9881c: Fix warning with GPIO controllers that sleep

The ilitek-ili9881c controls the reset GPIO using the non-sleeping
gpiod_set_value() function. This complains loudly when the GPIO
controller needs to sleep. As the caller can sleep, use
gpiod_set_value_cansleep() to fix the issue.

7c342984be netfilter: nf_tables: fully validate NFT_DATA_VALUE on store to data registers

register store validation for NFT_DATA_VALUE is conditional, however,
the datatype is always either NFT_DATA_VALUE or NFT_DATA_VERDICT. This
only requires a new helper function to infer the register type from the
set datatype so this conditional check can be removed. Otherwise,
pointer to chain object can be leaked through the registers.

sparc has the wrong compat version of recv() and recvfrom() for both the
direct syscalls and socketcall().

The direct syscalls just need to use the compat version. For socketcall,
the same thing could be done, but it seems better to completely remove
the custom assembler code for it and just use the same implementation that
everyone else has.

ca17653dcf sparc: fix old compat_sys_select()

sparc has two identical select syscalls at numbers 93 and 230, respectively.
During the conversion to the modern syscall.tbl format, the older one of the
two broke in compat mode, and now refers to the native 64-bit syscall.

Restore the correct behavior. This has very little effect, as glibc has
been using the newer number anyway.

5c96e80a6e xdp: Remove WARN() from __xdp_reg_mem_model()

syzkaller reports a warning in __xdp_reg_mem_model().

The warning occurs only if __mem_id_init_hash_table() returns an error. It
returns the error in two cases:

  1. memory allocation fails;
  2. rhashtable_init() fails when some fields of rhashtable_params
     struct are not initialized properly.

The second case cannot happen since there is a static const rhashtable_params
struct with valid fields. So, warning is only triggered when there is a
problem with memory allocation.

Thus, there is no sense in using WARN() to handle this error and it can be
safely removed.

76b48089bb xdp: Allow registering memory model without rxq reference

The functions that register an XDP memory model take a struct xdp_rxq as
parameter, but the RXQ is not actually used for anything other than pulling
out the struct xdp_mem_info that it embeds. So refactor the register
functions and export variants that just take a pointer to the xdp_mem_info.

This is in preparation for enabling XDP_REDIRECT in bpf_prog_run(), using a
page_pool instance that is not connected to any network device.

8325a788a2 xdp: Move the rxq_info.mem clearing to unreg_mem_model()

xdp_rxq_info_unreg() implicitly calls xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model().
This may well be confusing to the driver authors, and lead to double free
if they call xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model() before xdp_rxq_info_unreg()
(when mem model type == MEM_TYPE_PAGE_POOL).

In fact error path of mvpp2_rxq_init() seems to currently do exactly that.

The double free will result in refcount underflow in page_pool_destroy().
Make the interface a little more programmer friendly by clearing type and
id so that xdp_rxq_info_unreg_mem_model() can be called multiple times.

7d807feaa1 net: dsa: microchip: fix initial port flush problem

The very first flush in any port will flush all learned addresses in all
ports.  This can be observed by unplugging the cable from one port while
additional ports are connected and dumping the fdb entries.

This problem is caused by the initially wrong value programmed to the
REG_SW_LUE_CTRL_1 register.  Setting SW_FLUSH_STP_TABLE and
SW_FLUSH_MSTP_TABLE bits does not have an immediate effect.  It is when
ksz9477_flush_dyn_mac_table() is called then the SW_FLUSH_STP_TABLE bit
takes effect and flushes all learned entries.  After that call both bits
are reset and so the next port flush will not cause such problem again.

caf0311c06 ASoC: fsl-asoc-card: set priv->pdev before using it

priv->pdev pointer was set after being used in
fsl_asoc_card_audmux_init().
Move this assignment at the start of the probe function, so
sub-functions can correctly use pdev through priv.

fsl_asoc_card_audmux_init() dereferences priv->pdev to get access to the
dev struct, used with dev_err macros.
As priv is zero-initialised, there would be a NULL pointer dereference.
Note that if priv->dev is dereferenced before assignment but never used,
for example if there is no error to be printed, the driver won't crash
probably due to compiler optimisations.

5f8cdcf85b nfsd: hold a lighter-weight client reference over CB_RECALL_ANY

Currently the CB_RECALL_ANY job takes a cl_rpc_users reference to the
client. While a callback job is technically an RPC that counter is
really more for client-driven RPCs, and this has the effect of
preventing the client from being unhashed until the callback completes.

If nfsd decides to send a CB_RECALL_ANY just as the client reboots, we
can end up in a situation where the callback can't complete on the (now
dead) callback channel, but the new client can't connect because the old
client can't be unhashed. This usually manifests as a NFS4ERR_DELAY
return on the CREATE_SESSION operation.

The job is only holding a reference to the client so it can clear a flag
after the RPC completes. Fix this by having CB_RECALL_ANY instead hold a
reference to the cl_nfsdfs.cl_ref. Typically we only take that sort of
reference when dealing with the nfsdfs info files, but it should work
appropriately here to ensure that the nfs4_client doesn't disappear.

320a55f22e SUNRPC: Fix svcxdr_init_encode's buflen calculation

Commit 2825a7f90753 ("nfsd4: allow encoding across page boundaries")
added an explicit computation of the remaining length in the rq_res
XDR buffer.

The computation appears to suffer from an "off-by-one" bug. Because
buflen is too large by one page, XDR encoding can run off the end of
the send buffer by eventually trying to use the struct page address
in rq_page_end, which always contains NULL.

7cf6c7bcb6 SUNRPC: Fix svcxdr_init_decode's end-of-buffer calculation

Ensure that stream-based argument decoding can't go past the actual
end of the receive buffer. xdr_init_decode's calculation of the
value of xdr->end over-estimates the end of the buffer because the
Linux kernel RPC server code does not remove the size of the RPC
header from rqstp->rq_arg before calling the upper layer's
dispatcher.

The server-side still uses the svc_getnl() macros to decode the
RPC call header. These macros reduce the length of the head iov
but do not update the total length of the message in the buffer
(buf->len).

A proper fix for this would be to replace the use of svc_getnl() and
friends in the RPC header decoder, but that would be a large and
invasive change that would be difficult to backport.

4e4b77f5b5 pinctrl: rockchip: use dedicated pinctrl type for RK3328

rk3328_pin_ctrl uses type of RK3288 which has a hack in
rockchip_pinctrl_suspend and rockchip_pinctrl_resume to restore GPIO6-C6
at assume, the hack is not applicable to RK3328 as GPIO6 is not even
exist in it. So use a dedicated pinctrl type to skip this hack.

e737b09b1b pinctrl: fix deadlock in create_pinctrl() when handling -EPROBE_DEFER

In create_pinctrl(), pinctrl_maps_mutex is acquired before calling
add_setting(). If add_setting() returns -EPROBE_DEFER, create_pinctrl()
calls pinctrl_free(). However, pinctrl_free() attempts to acquire
pinctrl_maps_mutex, which is already held by create_pinctrl(), leading to
a potential deadlock.

This patch resolves the issue by releasing pinctrl_maps_mutex before
calling pinctrl_free(), preventing the deadlock.

This bug was discovered and resolved using Coverity Static Analysis
Security Testing (SAST) by Synopsys, Inc.

32873ebd2a ACPI: x86: Force StorageD3Enable on more products

A Rembrandt-based HP thin client is reported to have problems where
the NVME disk isn't present after resume from s2idle.

This is because the NVME disk wasn't put into D3 at suspend, and
that happened because the StorageD3Enable _DSD was missing in the BIOS.

As AMD's architecture requires that the NVME is in D3 for s2idle, adjust
the criteria for force_storage_d3 to match *all* Zen SoCs when the FADT
advertises low power idle support.

This will ensure that any future products with this BIOS deficiency don't
need to be added to the allow list of overrides.

9b478dd1ae ACPI: x86: utils: Add Picasso to the list for forcing StorageD3Enable

Picasso was the first APU that introduced s2idle support from AMD,
and it was predating before vendors started to use `StorageD3Enable`
in their firmware.

Windows doesn't have problems with this hardware and NVME so it was
likely on the list of hardcoded CPUs to use this behavior in Windows.

Add it to the list for Linux to avoid NVME resume issues.

commit 018d6711c26e4 ("ACPI: x86: Add a quirk for Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1
for StorageD3Enable") introduced a quirk to allow a system with ambiguous
use of _ADR 0 to force StorageD3Enable.

It was reported that several more Dell systems suffered the same symptoms.
As the list is continuing to grow but these are all Cezanne systems,
instead add Cezanne to the CPU list to apply the StorageD3Enable property
and remove the whole list.

It was also reported that an HP system only has StorageD3Enable on the ACPI
device for the first NVME disk, not the second.

Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 has two ACPI nodes under GPP1 both with _ADR of
0, both without _HID.  It's ambiguous which the kernel should take, but
it seems to take "DEV0".  Unfortunately "DEV0" is missing the device
property `StorageD3Enable` which is present on "NVME".

To avoid this causing problems for suspend, add a quirk for this system
to behave like `StorageD3Enable` property was found.

ff9b9e9776 ACPI: Add quirks for AMD Renoir/Lucienne CPUs to force the D3 hint

AMD systems from Renoir and Lucienne require that the NVME controller
is put into D3 over a Modern Standby / suspend-to-idle
cycle.  This is "typically" accomplished using the `StorageD3Enable`
property in the _DSD, but this property was introduced after many
of these systems launched and most OEM systems don't have it in
their BIOS.

On AMD Renoir without these drives going into D3 over suspend-to-idle
the resume will fail with the NVME controller being reset and a trace
like this in the kernel logs:

The Microsoft documentation for StorageD3Enable mentioned that Windows has
a hardcoded allowlist for D3 support, which was used for these platforms.
Introduce quirks to hardcode them for Linux as well.

As this property is now "standardized", OEM systems using AMD Cezanne and
newer APU's have adopted this property, and quirks like this should not be
necessary.

80852dba1a x86/amd_nb: Check for invalid SMN reads

AMD Zen-based systems use a System Management Network (SMN) that
provides access to implementation-specific registers.

SMN accesses are done indirectly through an index/data pair in PCI
config space. The PCI config access may fail and return an error code.
This would prevent the "read" value from being updated.

However, the PCI config access may succeed, but the return value may be
invalid. This is in similar fashion to PCI bad reads, i.e. return all
bits set.

Most systems will return 0 for SMN addresses that are not accessible.
This is in line with AMD convention that unavailable registers are
Read-as-Zero/Writes-Ignored.

However, some systems will return a "PCI Error Response" instead. This
value, along with an error code of 0 from the PCI config access, will
confuse callers of the amd_smn_read() function.

Check for this condition, clear the return value, and set a proper error
code.

68d8c39500 PCI: Add PCI_ERROR_RESPONSE and related definitions

A config or MMIO read from a PCI device that doesn't exist or doesn't
respond causes a PCI error. There's no real data to return to satisfy the
CPU read, so most hardware fabricates ~0 data.

Add a PCI_ERROR_RESPONSE definition for that and use it where appropriate
to make these checks consistent and easier to find.

Also add helper definitions PCI_SET_ERROR_RESPONSE() and
PCI_POSSIBLE_ERROR() to make the code more readable.

4070b454f4 kheaders: explicitly define file modes for archived headers

Build environments might be running with different umask settings
resulting in indeterministic file modes for the files contained in
kheaders.tar.xz. The file itself is served with 444, i.e. world
readable. Archive the files explicitly with 744,a+X to improve
reproducibility across build environments.

--mode=0444 is not suitable as directories need to be executable. Also,
444 makes it hard to delete all the readonly files after extraction.

This reverts commit 700dea5a0bea9f64eba89fae7cb2540326fdfdc1.

The reason for that commit was --sort=ORDER introduced in
tar 1.28 (2014). More than 3 years have passed since then.

Requiring GNU tar 1.28 should be fine now because we require

1952222ec6 r8169: Fix possible ring buffer corruption on fragmented Tx packets.

An issue was found on the RTL8125b when transmitting small fragmented
packets, whereby invalid entries were inserted into the transmit ring
buffer, subsequently leading to calls to dma_unmap_single() with a null
address.

This was caused by rtl8169_start_xmit() not noticing changes to nr_frags
which may occur when small packets are padded (to work around hardware
quirks) in rtl8169_tso_csum_v2().

To fix this, postpone inspecting nr_frags until after any padding has been
applied.

adb7c3aab5 r8169: remove not needed check in rtl8169_start_xmit

In rtl_tx() the released descriptors are zero'ed by
rtl8169_unmap_tx_skb(). And in the beginning of rtl8169_start_xmit()
we check that enough descriptors are free, therefore there's no way
the DescOwn bit can be set here.

3da02832e3 r8169: remove nr_frags argument from rtl_tx_slots_avail

The only time when nr_frags isn't SKB_MAX_FRAGS is when entering
rtl8169_start_xmit(). However we can use SKB_MAX_FRAGS also here
because when queue isn't stopped there should always be room for
MAX_SKB_FRAGS + 1 descriptors.

Improve the following in rtl8169_start_xmit:
- tp->cur_tx can be accessed in parallel by rtl_tx(), therefore
  annotate the race by using WRITE_ONCE
- avoid checking stop_queue a second time by moving the doorbell check
- netif_stop_queue() uses atomic operation set_bit() that includes a
  full memory barrier on some platforms, therefore use
  smp_mb__after_atomic to avoid overhead

baeefb25f4 r8169: improve rtl_tx

We can simplify the for() condition and eliminate variable tx_left.
The change also considers that tp->cur_tx may be incremented by a
racing rtl8169_start_xmit().
In addition replace the write to tp->dirty_tx and the following
smp_mb() with an equivalent call to smp_store_mb(). This implicitly
adds a WRITE_ONCE() to the write.
